George H. HARTING one of the most prominent residence of Jackson Township, passed away at his home near Jamestown Monday afternoon at 1:45. George Harting was born on 11-19-1853 near Liberty, Indiana son of Hiram B and Willie Jane Small Harting. His father was born in Germany 9-3-1830 and emigrated to this country. He located in Union County where he was married in 1853. Two years later he and his wife came to Boone County, Jackson Township. George grew to manhood on the home farm and he received his education in the district schools assisting his father on the farm until he was 25. April 17, 1879 he married Ina B. Endicott of this county, daughter of James and Elizabeth Endicott. To this union 9 children were born: Emma Blanche died 11-12-1888; Anna B. Wells of Jamestown; Willie Bennet of this county; Harry Blaine of this city; Rosa Heady of this county; Clayton Bernard of this county; Jennie Budd of near Jamestown; Earl Budd who resides at the home in Jamestown; and Aletha Belle Steward of Indianapolis. Mr. Harting was stricken with apoplexy Sunday night and never rallied. The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 and will be conducted by Rev. Francis. Interment in IOOF [Independent Order of Odd Fellows]  at Jamestown.
